Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed.
Ephesians 4:19
You, who are now destined (I’m not afraid to use this word any more!) to demonstrate through your living Jesus filling the whole universe (vs. 9–16), must not live as Gentiles do (v. 17), that is, with hardened hearts and vain thoughts (v. 18). This kind of attitude comes out when you are filled with ‘greed’ (v. 19)—the opposite of being filled with and full of Jesus. Why act as if you are filled with greed when you are filled with the Lord? If you say, ‘Because I’m not filled with the Lord’, then you are making a big mistake, deceived by the world’s scheme. But this is the whole ministry of Paul—reminding us that yes, we are filled with Jesus, so come to your senses! Do not live as the senseless (v. 19). So, if you have strength to breathe today, live out what’s in you. Be humble, gentle, patient, and bear with each other in love (v2). Let me battle to let this out today, Lord.
