마리 뒤랑 이야기 The Story of Marie Durand
Objective
마리 뒤랑의 삶을 통해 어려운 상황 속에서도 용기와 인내를 가지고 우리가 지켜야 할 것이 무엇인지 생각해봅니다. Help students understand what it is that we need to hold onto with courage and persistence even in difficult circumstances, inspired by the life of Marie Durand.
1. “저항!” 무슨 뜻일까? “Resist!” What Does It Mean?
- 토론 질문: “저항하라”라는 말을 들으면 어떤 생각이 드나요? 여러분도 잘못된 것에 저항해야 했던 경험이 있나요? What comes to mind when you hear the word “resist”? Have you ever had to resist something you felt was wrong?
- 설명: 마리 뒤랑이라는 한 젊은 여성이 250년도 전에 이 단어를 어두운 감옥 탑 안에서 새겼어요. 오직 신앙 때문에 갇힌 그녀는 자신을 포함한 다른 신앙인들에게 믿음을 지키라고 용기를 주었죠. Introduce that Marie Durand, a young French woman, wrote this word over 250 years ago in a dark prison tower where she was held for decades just for her faith.
2. 마리 뒤랑의 배경 이야기 Background on Marie Durand
- 마리 뒤랑은 1711년 프랑스에서 태어났어요. 그 당시 프랑스는 개신교 신자들을 심하게 박해하고 있었고, 마리의 가정도 그 신앙을 지키기 위해 많은 어려움을 겪었어요. Marie Durand was born in 1711 in France, a country where Protestants (like the Huguenots) were severely persecuted.
- 마리는 19세에 개신교 신앙을 가졌다는 이유만으로 감옥에 갇혔어요. 그녀는 그곳에서 무려 38년을 보내며 “Resistez!”라는 단어를 탑 벽에 새겼습니다. At age 19, Marie was imprisoned in the Tower of Constance because of her Protestant faith. She spent 38 years there, refusing to renounce her beliefs. On the prison walls, she carved the word “Resistez!” urging others to hold firm in their faith.
- 그녀의 용기는 많은 이들에게 신앙을 지킬 힘을 주었고, 오늘날까지도 기억되고 있어요. Her courage inspired others, and today, she is remembered for her unwavering faith and resilience.

If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. Houd jezelf niet voor de gek! Als jullie denken dat jullie heel wijs zijn in de dingen van deze wereld, moeten jullie eerst dwaas worden. Pas dan zullen jullie écht wijs worden.
- v. 23 여러분은 그리스도에게 속하였으며 그리스도는 하나님께 속하였습니다. and you are of Christ, and Christ is of God. En jullie zijn van Christus, en Christus is van God.
