역대하 25-26장

그가 강성하여지매 그의 마음이 교만하여 악을 행하여 그의 하나님 여호와께 범죄하되 곧 여호와의 성전에 들어가서 향단에 분향하려 한지라

But after Uzziah became powerful, his pride led to his downfall. He was unfaithful to the LORD his God, and entered the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense.

Maar toen hij machtig was geworden, werd hij trots. Op een dag werd hij ongehoorzaam aan zijn Heer God: hij vond dat hij zelf het wierook-offer in de tempel mocht aansteken.

26:16

요나 1-4장

거짓되고 헛된 것을 숭상하는 모든 자는 자기에게 베푸신 은혜를 버렸사오나
나는 감사하는 목소리로 주께 제사를 드리며 나의 서원을 주께 갚겠나이다 구원은 여호와께 속하였나이다 하니라
여호와께서 그 물고기에게 말씀하시매 요나를 육지에 토하니라

“Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs.
But I, with a song of thanksgiving, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. Salvation comes from the LORD.”
And the LORD commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.

De mensen die afgoden aanbidden, verlaten de God die goed voor hen is. 9 Maar ik zal U prijzen. Wat ik U beloofd heb, zal ik ook doen. Want U redt mijn leven.” 10 Toen gaf de Heer de vis het bevel om Jona uit te spugen op het strand.

2:8-10

하물며 이 큰 성읍 니느웨에는 좌우를 분변하지 못하는 자가 십이만여 명이요 가축도 많이 있나니 내가 어찌 아끼지 아니하겠느냐 하시니라

And should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left—and also many animals?”

Zou Ik dan niet treuren over de verwoesting van die grote stad Ninevé? Er wonen meer dan 120.000 mensen. Mensen die het verschil tussen goed en kwaad niet weten. Bovendien nog heel veel onschuldige dieren. Ik wilde liever dat al die mensen en dieren blijven leven.”

4:11

열왕기하 15장

요담이 그의 아버지 웃시야의 모든 행위대로 여호와께서 보시기에 정직히 행하였으나
오직 산당을 제거하지 아니하였으므로 백성이 여전히 그 산당에서 제사를 드리며 분향하였더라 요담이 여호와의 성전의 윗문을 건축하니라

He (Jotham son of Uzziah king of Judah) did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father Uzziah had done. The high places, however, were not removed; the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there. Jotham rebuilt the Upper Gate of the temple of the Lord.

Jotam leefde zoals de Heer het wil, net als zijn vader Azarja. 35 Alleen liet hij de altaren niet weghalen. Nog steeds bracht het volk daarop offers. Hij bouwde de Bovenpoort van de tempel van de Heer.

15:34-35

강할 때는 교만하고, 약할 때 거짓 맹세하는 우리를 ‘하물며’의 은혜로 덮으신 하나님. 교만과 우상숭배의 어두움에서 단한번에 왕이며 제사장이라는 이해되지 않는 빛 가운데로 들어오게 하셨습니다. 다 이해되고 설득되지 않더라도, 하나님 앞에 나아갈 수 있게 하신 특권을 누리며 이 자리를 알아가게 하소서.

시편 10편

여호와여 일어나옵소서 하나님이여 손을 드옵소서 가난한 자들을 잊지 마옵소서
어찌하여 악인이 하나님을 멸시하여 그의 마음에 이르기를 주는 감찰하지 아니하리라 하나이까
주께서는 보셨나이다 주는 재앙과 원한을 감찰하시고 주의 손으로 갚으려 하시오니 외로운 자가 주를 의지하나이다 주는 벌써부터 고아를 도우시는 이시니이다

Arise, LORD! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless.
Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, “He won’t call me to account”?
But you, O God, do see trouble and grief; you consider it to take it in hand. The victim commits himself to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.

Kom Heer! God, doe er iets aan!
Denk alstublieft aan de arme mensen!
Maakt het U dan niets uit
dat mensen zich niets van U aantrekken?
Dat ze zeggen: “Het maakt God niets uit wat ik doe”?
Maar U ziet het, want U ziet alle ellende en verdriet.
U zal het bestraffen.
Mensen in nood vertrouwen op U.
Weeskinderen worden door U geholpen.

10:12-14

가난한 우리를 도우신 하나님. 하나님을 알지 못하는 가난함 속에서 우리에게 한가지 필요한 것 예수 그리스도를 주셨습니다. 풍성히 베푸신 하나님을 멸시하지 않게 하소서. 주를 의지하는 관계 안에 서 있는 의로움을 우리에게 주소서.
