겁내는 자들에게 이르기를 굳세어라, 두려워하지 말라, 보라 너희 하나님이 오사 보복하시며 갚아 주실 것이라 하나님이 오사 너희를 구하시리라 하라Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way;
say to those with fearful hearts, “Be strong, do not fear; your God will come, he will come with vengeance; with divine retribution he will come to save you.”Laat je slappe handen weer sterk worden.
But the commander replied, “Was it only to your master and you that my master sent me to say these things, and not to the men sitting on the wall–who, like you, will have to eat their own filth and drink their own urine?”
Then the commander stood and called out in Hebrew, “Hear the words of the great king, the king of Assyria!
Lord, by such things men live; and my spirit finds life in them too. You restored me to health and let me live.
Surely it was for my benefit that I suffered such anguish. In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back.
Mijn grote moeilijkheden veranderden in zegen.
And some of your descendants, your own flesh and blood who will be born to you, will be taken away, and they will become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.”
“The word of the LORD you have spoken is good,” Hezekiah replied.
All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before him– those who cannot keep themselves alive.
Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord.
They will proclaim his righteousness to a people yet unborn– for he has done it.De machtige mensen zullen voor Hem knielen.
31 Hun kinderen zullen Hem dienen.
