[인트로]
예수님은 굳이 사마리아를 지나가셨습니다. 그리고 제자들이 자리를 비운 사이, 한 사마리아 여인과 긴 대화를 나누셨습니다. 흔히 한 죄인이 예수님을 만난 이야기로 기억되는 이 장면이지만 실은 사도 요한은 조금 다른 방향에서 조명하고 있습니다. 잃어버린 한 영혼을 찾아 나선 분은 예수님이셨고, 그 여인은 자신도 모르는 사이 하나님의 자녀로 회복되고 있었습니다. 그리고 놀랍게도, 그렇게 변화된 한 사람을 통해 온 마을이 예수님께로 나아갑니다. 예수님은 바로 그 모습을 가리켜 자신의 “양식”이라고 말씀하십니다. 이 양식으로 차려진 기쁨의 식탁에 우리를 초대하시는 예수님의 모습을 다시 보게 되는 시간되기 바랍니다.
Jesus deliberately passed through Samaria. And while His disciples were away, He engaged in a long conversation with a Samaritan woman. We often remember this scene as the story of a sinner meeting Jesus, but the Apostle John actually shines a light on it from a different angle. It was Jesus who set out to seek a lost soul, and the woman was being restored as a child of God without even realizing it. Remarkably, through the transformation of this one person, an entire town begins to come to Jesus. Jesus points to that very scene and calls it His “food.” May this be a time for us to see once again Jesus inviting us to that table of joy prepared with that food.

19. 그러니까 이미 이 여인은 예수님과 물을 가지고 옥신각신 할 때부터, 하나님은 그녀를 자기 자녀로 부르셨던 것입니다. 남편을 데리고 오라는 예수의 말에, 어느덧 진실을 말해버리는 자기 자신을 발견하는 것 뿐이지요. 무슨 자기 자신? 예수를 진정한 자기의 남편, 바알로, 그리스도로 알고 있는 자기 자신, 그래서 그녀는 사마리아 사람이 아닌, 하나님께서 자기 자녀로 삼기로 작정한 자로 드러나는 것입니다.
26. 이때 예수께서는 그것이 바로 자기의 양식이라고 말씀해 주십니다. 제자들이 구해온 음식이 아니라, 한 여인이 변화되어 추수꾼이 되어 나가는 그 일! 그것이 하나님의 양식이지요. 우리에게 적용해서 말하자면, 우리가 하나님의 자녀로 거듭나서, 이 사실을 우리 주변에 널리 선전하고 전파하는 일입니다.
19. So even while this woman was arguing back and forth with Jesus about water, God had already called her His child. When Jesus tells her to bring her husband, she suddenly finds herself speaking the truth. What truth about herself? That she knows Jesus as her true husband, her Baal, her Christ. Thus she is revealed not as a Samaritan, but as one whom God had decreed to make His child.
26. At that moment, Jesus tells them that this is His food. Not the food the disciples had bought, but the fact that a woman has been transformed and goes out as a harvester—that is God’s food. Applied to us, it means that we are born again as God’s children and then widely proclaim and spread this truth to those around us.
예수님은 한 여인이 변화되어 추수꾼이 되어 가는 모습을 보며 그것이 자신의 ‘양식’이라고 말씀하셨습니다. 오늘 내 삶 가운데 예수님께 기쁨이 되고, 예수님의 양식이 될 만한 일은 무엇일까요? 하나님께서 이미 나를 자신의 자녀로 부르셨다는 사실은 당연하게 들릴 수 있지만 그럼에도 불구하고 그 사실로 돌아가는 것이 내가 다른 사람들을 섬기고 복음을 전하는 일을 바라보는 태도에 어떤 영향을 줍니까?
Jesus said that seeing a woman transformed and becoming a harvester was His “food.” Looking at my life today, what might bring joy to Jesus and become His food? The truth that God has already called me His child may sound familiar, even obvious. Yet how does returning to that truth shape the way I view serving others and sharing the gospel?
