열왕기상 16-18장

오므리의 아들 아합이 그의 이전의 모든 사람보다 여호와 보시기에 악을 더욱 행하여 느밧의 아들 여로보암의 죄를 따라 행하는 것을 오히려 가볍게 여기며 시돈 사람의 왕 엣바알의 딸 이세벨을 아내로 삼고 가서 바알을 섬겨 예배하고

Ahab son of Omri did more evil in the eyes of the LORD than any of those before him. He not only considered it trivial to commit the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, but he also married Jezebel daughter of Ethbaal king of the Sidonians, and began to serve Baal and worship him.

Achab leefde niet zoals de Heer het wil. Hij was slechter dan alle andere koningen vóór hem. 31 Het was al erg genoeg dat hij afgoden aanbad, net als koning Jerobeam, de zoon van Nebat. 16:30-31

So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed.
Midday passed, and they continued their frantic prophesying until the time for the evening sacrifice. But there was no response, no one answered, no one paid attention.

Toen riepen ze nog harder. En ze sneden zichzelf zoals altijd met hun messen, tot ze dropen van het bloed. 29 Toen de middag voorbij was en het bijna de tijd van het avond-offer was,[a] begonnen ze in trance te raken. Maar er kwam geen geluid en geen antwoord. Er gebeurde niets.

그가 전심으로 여호와의 길을 걸어 산당들과 아세라 목상들도 유다에서 제거하였더라 그가 왕위에 있은 지 삼 년에 그의 방백들 벤하일과 오바댜와 스가랴와 느다넬과 미가야를 보내어 유다 여러 성읍에 가서 가르치게 하고

His heart was devoted to the ways of the LORD; furthermore, he removed the high places and the Asherah poles from Judah.
In the third year of his reign he sent his officials Ben-Hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel and Micaiah to teach in the towns of Judah.

Hij was vastbesloten om te leven zoals de Heer het wil. Bovendien haalde hij de altaren en de heilige palen uit Juda weg. Toen hij drie jaar koning was, stuurde hij vijf ambtenaren naar de steden van Juda, om de mensen les te geven in de wet van de Heer. Dat waren Benhaïl, Obadja, Zecharja, Netaneël en Michaja.

17:6-7

왕들이 세워지고 무너지며 온 땅이 우상과 욕망을 따라 흔들릴 때에도, 홀로 살아 계시고 말씀하시는 하나님. 우리 안에도 주의 말씀보다 시대의 힘과 사람의 인정과 눈에 보이는 안전을 더 두려워하는 마음이 있음을 인정합니다. 약속을 따라 성령의 불로 응답하신 하나님 앞에서 우리 마음의 우상들과 그 숭배함의 무력함이 드러나고 무너지게 하소서. 우리의 모든 성향에도 불구하고, 주를 따르고 싶고, 말씀을 이해하고 싶고, 주를 사랑하고 싶은 영적 은사를 성령으로 우리에게 주소서.

시편 2편

세상의 군왕들이 나서며 관원들이 서로 꾀하여 여호와와 그의 기름 부음 받은 자를 대적하며
우리가 그들의 맨 것을 끊고 그의 결박을 벗어 버리자 하는도다
하늘에 계신 이가 웃으심이여 주께서 그들을 비웃으시리로다

The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his Anointed One.
“Let us break their chains,” they say, “and throw off their fetters.”
The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them.

De koningen van de aarde maken zich klaar voor de strijd.
Ze sluiten zich bij elkaar aan en komen in opstand tegen de Heer
en tegen de man die Hij tot koning heeft gezalfd.
Ze zeggen: “We willen niet dat zij over ons heersen!
We willen niet dat zij ons vertellen wat wel en niet mag!”
God in de hemel trekt zich niets van hun plannen aan.
De Heer lacht om hen.

2:2-4

우리가 담합한다 하여도 끊을 수 없는 그리스도 안에 있는 하나님의 사랑을 찬양합니다. 세상의 원리와 궤계를 비웃으시는 하나님의 지략과 모사를 경외합니다. 감히 상상할 수 없는 하나님의 지혜를 눈으로 보이신 우리의 왕 예수 그리스도 앞에 빠르게 엎드리고 피할 수 있도록 우리를 끊임없이 가르치셔서, 헛된 일을 꾸미는 수고에서 그치고 쉬는 예배를 하게 하소서.
