여호수아 4-7장

너희의 하나님 여호와께서 요단 물을 너희 앞에서 마르게 하사 너희를 건너게 하신 것이 너희의 하나님 여호와께서 우리 앞에 홍해를 말리시고 우리를 건너게 하심과 같았나니
이는 땅의 모든 백성에게 여호와의 손이 강하신 것을 알게 하며 너희가 너희의 하나님 여호와를 항상 경외하게 하려 하심이라 하라

For the LORD your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over. The LORD your God did to the Jordan just what he had done to the Red Sea when he dried it up before us until we had crossed over.
He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the LORD is powerful and so that you might always fear the LORD your God.”

Want jullie Heer God heeft de Jordaan voor ons laten opdrogen, totdat we waren overgestoken. Net zoals jullie Heer God vroeger heeft gedaan met de Rietzee. Hij deed dat omdat Hij wilde dat alle volken van de aarde zouden weten dat jullie Heer God een machtig God is. En ook omdat jullie dan voor altijd diep ontzag voor Hem zouden hebben.’ “

4:23-24

그가 이르되 아니라 나는 여호와의 군대 대장으로 지금 왔느니라 하는지라 여호수아가 얼굴을 땅에 대고 엎드려 절하고 그에게 이르되 내 주여 종에게 무슨 말씀을 하려 하시나이까
여호와의 군대 대장이 여호수아에게 이르되 네 발에서 신을 벗으라 네가 선 곳은 거룩하니라 하니 여호수아가 그대로 행하니라

“Neither,” he replied, “but as commander of the army of the LORD I have now come.” Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, “What message does my Lord have for his servant?”
The commander of the LORD’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.” And Joshua did so.

Maar de man antwoordde: “Geen van beide. Ik ben de aanvoerder van het leger van de Heer. Nu ben ik gekomen.” Jozua knielde neer, boog zich diep en zei tegen hem: “Heer, wat komt u mij zeggen?” De aanvoerder van het leger van de Heer antwoordde hem: “Trek eerst je schoenen uit, want je staat op heilige grond.” Toen trok Jozua zijn schoenen uit.

5:14-15

일곱째 날 새벽에 그들이 일찍이 일어나서 전과 같은 방식으로 그 성을 일곱 번 도니 그 성을 일곱 번 돌기는 그 날뿐이었더라 일곱 번째에 제사장들이 나팔을 불 때에 여호수아가 백성에게 이르되 외치라 여호와께서 너희에게 이 성을 주셨느니라

On the seventh day, they got up at daybreak and marched around the city seven times in the same manner, except that on that day they circled the city seven times. The seventh time around, when the priests sounded the trumpet blast, Joshua commanded the people, “Shout! For the LORD has given you the city!

Op de zevende dag stonden ze op zodra het licht begon te worden. Ze trokken op dezelfde manier om de stad heen, maar nu zeven keer. Alleen op die dag trokken ze zeven keer om de stad heen. Toen de priesters bij de zevende keer op de horens bliezen, zei Jozua tegen het volk: “Juich, want de Heer heeft jullie de stad gegeven!

6:15-16

여호수아가 이르되 네가 어찌하여 우리를 괴롭게 하였느냐 여호와께서 오늘 너를 괴롭게 하시리라 하니 온 이스라엘이 그를 돌로 치고 물건들도 돌로 치고 불사르고 그 위에 돌 무더기를 크게 쌓았더니 오늘까지 있더라 여호와께서 그의 맹렬한 진노를 그치시니 그러므로 그 곳 이름을 오늘까지 아골 골짜기라 부르더라

Joshua said, “Why have you brought this trouble on us? The LORD will bring trouble on you today.” Then all Israel stoned him, and after they had stoned the rest, they burned them. Over Achan they heaped up a large pile of rocks, which remains to this day. Then the LORD turned from his fierce anger. Therefore that place has been called the Valley of Achor ever since.

Jozua zei: “Zoals jullie ons in het ongeluk hebben gestort, zo zal de Heer jullie vandaag in het ongeluk storten.” Toen gooiden de Israëlieten hen met stenen dood en verbrandden de lichamen. Daarna maakten ze op de lijken een grote steenstapel, die er nu nog steeds ligt. Daarom noemden ze die plek: Achor-dal (= ‘dal van ellende’). Zo heet dat dal nog steeds. Toen was de Heer niet langer kwaad.

7:25-26

우리를 생각지 못한 방법으로 도우시고 이끄시는 하나님. 우리를 가로막아 흐르는 요단은 마르게 하시고 굳건한 여리고는 무너지게 하셔서 우리가 건너오고 취하게 하십니다. 그러나 그 중에도 우리는 생각지도 못한 방법으로 꾀를 내어 하나님을 불순종하고 우리의 욕심을 부립니다. 기적과 은혜 앞에서도 발동하는 우리의 이기심을 지금도 돌로 쳐서 멸절하셔야 마땅하거늘 우리를 더 이상 정죄하지 않으시고 놓아주시며 가서 다시는 죄를 짓지 말라하십니다. 죄 자체를 없애시려 죄없는 자 단 한분을 우리에게 내어주셨습니다.

시편 107편

사람이 흑암과 사망의 그늘에 앉으며 곤고와 쇠사슬에 매임은
하나님의 말씀을 거역하며 지존자의 뜻을 멸시함이라
그러므로 그가 고통을 주어 그들의 마음을 겸손하게 하셨으니 그들이 엎드러져도 돕는 자가 없었도다
이에 그들이 그 환난 중에 여호와께 부르짖으매 그들의 고통에서 구원하시되
흑암과 사망의 그늘에서 인도하여 내시고 그들의 얽어 맨 줄을 끊으셨도다
여호와의 인자하심과 인생에게 행하신 기적으로 말미암아 그를 찬송할지로다

Some sat in darkness and the deepest gloom, prisoners suffering in iron chains,
for they had rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High.
So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.
Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom and broke away their chains.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men,

Er waren mensen die diep in hun ellende gevangen zaten.
Er was geen uitweg. Het leven was donker geworden om hen heen.
Dat kwam doordat ze ongehoorzaam waren geweest
en niet hadden willen luisteren naar de Allerhoogste God.
Daarom bracht Hij hen in moeilijkheden.
Ze kwamen om van ellende en er was geen enkele hulp.
Toen riepen ze tot de Heer in hun angst.
Hij redde hen uit de nood.
Hij redde hen uit de duisternis,
bevrijdde hen uit hun moeilijkheden.
Ze zullen de Heer ervoor danken
dat Hij goed voor hen is geweest,
dat Hij de mensen op bijzondere wijze redt.

107:10-15

환난 중에서 하나님께 부르짖습니다. 우리의 부르짖음은 그저 고통과 불편함에서 벗어나기 위한 것일텐데 하나님께서는 그 부르짖음의 근원을 아시고 거룩하게 들으시고 하나님을 찾는 부름으로 들으십니다. 고통의 줄을 끊으시는 하나님. 우리가 무엇에 고통하는지 스스로는 잘 알지 못하나 하나님께서 아시고 그 고통의 근원을 제하여 주십니다. 하나님을 멸시하고 불순종함이 우리의 고통입니다. 고통을 먹고 마시는 우리를 불쌍히 여기사 그 대신 주의 살과 피를 먹고 마시도록 주셨습니다. 주의 순종과 낮아지심이 싫어도 눈물로 먹고 마실 수 밖에 없는 고난의 상황을 감사하게 하소서.
